Why Is The Sky Blue ???

The blue color looks beautiful skies in the afternoon when the sun shining on the earth's surface that looks like a blue marble when viewed from space. As evening approached too, when the moonlight illuminates the surface of the earth, the sky and even then looks looks like the color of the sky during the day is blue. A question arises, why is the sky blue? Is the color of the ocean created by the reflection of the earth or the color blue is a color that appears from the sun?

Wave of Light

Visible light wave is an example of one of the electromagnetic wave. Visible light comes from the sun and not the true light wave consisting only of a single wave of color. The sunlight is composed of many light waves in a set, but if the light blend that looks just like the bright white light of the sun. Sir Isaac Newton for the first time test beam of visible light from the sun is passed on a glass prism.

The result is a beam of sunlight through a prism and refracted widened, and some color visible due to scattering of light from the prism. Apparently the light can be scattered (spectrum) by a glass prism and prove that white light that consists of several different colors such as purple, blue, green, yellow, orange and red.

The order of the light depends on the size of the wave, usually a sequence of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and purple or in school lessons, often abbreviated to be easy to remember, being: MEJIKU-HIBINIU.

Under the red, the color began invisible to the human eye and is called the light "lower red" or IR (Infra Red).

And above as well as purple, the color began invisible to the human eye and is called the light "higher than the color purple" or Ultra Purple (Ultra Violet)

When the Sun Meets Atmospheric Light

Referring to the blue sky from the sun, before the sun reaches the earth's surface, the first step that must be passed by the sunlight passing through the atmosphere is the invisible or known by the term atmosphere. Outer space, the sun that was originally not interact with any media from entering the atmosphere interacts with the molecules of air molecules that can cause scattered in all directions.

Scattering is famous for Rayleigh scattering term. Rayleigh scattering is the elastic scattering of electromagnetic waves (including light) that is caused when a beam of light passes through a particle which light wavelengths longer than the wavelength of the particle in its path.

In fact, when the sun through a layer of air or atmosphere, the length of the air molecules a thousand times smaller than the wavelength of light the sun itself.

So this causes sunlight scattered into some kind of wave colors such as purple, blue, green, yellow, orange and red.

Blue Color Is Strongest Scattering Spectra Colors

Scattering blue is the strongest color scattering or at least four times stronger than the scattering other colors. The sky appears blue is nothing but a result of the scattering of sunlight waves dominated by scattering blue light waves.

Sky blue color that is dominated by the scattering of sunlight blue. Indeed sky has no color, and color to create a color that occurs due to scattering of sunlight. When the night was also so. The blue color that appears when the full moon or when the moon is shining on the earth are as a result of terhamburnya sunlight by air molecules and then color the sky is dominated by the color blue.
